This year's ride will be a very emotional one.

Last year, my mother Hyla Weiskind, a'h, passed away 72 years young, a victim of Covid19.

We were blessed with a month to fight for her and prepare ourselves. Despite the fight for life, her mission in this world was complete, and she returned to her Maker. Sadly, my mother was laid to rest on my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Our loss is beyond words. Yet, her legacy lives on in us all.

She is missed dearly not only by my father, her children, and grandchildren but also by the hundreds of friends and family she would text every Friday, wishing them a Good Shabbos. She touched the souls of 100's of people.

I will be riding this year not only as a merit for continued good health for our daughter Sarah Naomi, who attends Camp Simcha Special as a heart transplant recipient, but also in memory of my dear mother, who cherished the good that Chai Lifeline does for Sarah Naomi and children with pediatric illness.

As a tribute to her memory and l'iluy nishmas my mother Hyla, Chaya Gittel bas Yosef Baer, haCohen a'h - I ask you to please help me raise the money to cover the costs for at least two children, including Sarah Naomi, to attend Camp Simcha Special and forget about their medical and emotional challenges for 2 weeks of bliss. That cost is $10,000 per child - $20,000 for two children.

This summer, I am excited to take part in Bike4Chai, an exhilarating 100-mile cycling event benefiting the children and families of Chai Lifeline. Every mile I ride and every dollar I raise will help support more than two-dozen essential programs for more than 5,900 children and families confronting pediatric illness, crisis, and loss. These services include counseling and case management, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, transportation to medical appointments, emergency financial assistance, insurance advocacy, i-Shine after-school programming, Big Brothers/Sisters, Project Chai crisis intervention, and Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special, Chai Lifeline's flagship medically-supervised summer programs.

Life for a child with cancer, disability, or other serious illness is grueling. From the moment of diagnosis, Chai Lifeline's dedicated staff and volunteers are there to provide joy, hope, and unparalleled care throughout the turbulent medical journey.

Please contribute generously to this important cause by clicking on the donate button now.

All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

On behalf of the children of Chai Lifeline, thank you for your support.
