I began cycling in the fall of 2016 with one goal in mind – to ride for Bike4Chai in honor of a close friend’s six-year-old daughter who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Today, thanks in no small part to God, her team of doctors, her amazing parents, her great attitude, and Chai Lifeline / Camp Simcha (where she has been a camper), she is cancer free.

In 2021, I am proud to ride once again in honor of another Camp Simcha camper for the third year in a row, my neighbor, Menachem Falik. Menachem is a bright young boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 3. This debilitating and degenerative disease, deprives Menachem of doing even the simplest daily activities like getting up , getting dressed, walking, running, and active sports activities with his friends. Three summers ago, Menachem attended Camp Simcha Special for the very first time and was able to experience 10 days of that special brand of sheer joy, the likes of which only Camp Simcha can produce.

I cannot wait to see Menachem at the finish line on Wednesday July 29, 2021 after riding 100 miles. Life for a child with cancer or other serious illness is grueling; Chai Lifeline’s flagship programs, Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special, offer hundreds of children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. Camp is an oasis of fun, of joy, and of peace for children experiencing dark and turbulent times. To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit campsimcha.org.

Thank you for supporting me and, in doing so, helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment, and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.

My objective is to raise $80,000, and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

On behalf of the children of Chai Lifeline, thank you for your support.
