This summer, I am riding Bike4 Chai for Ouri's memory leilui nishmaso!
Ouri Yaakov Yedidia Ben Chasiba Joelle, My Brother In-law, (Rakel's brother) was born after hours of difficult delivery and lack of oxygen. This resulted in him being a special need child and then a special need man. He suddenly passed away the night of the 20th of Tamuz two weeks ago at age 26 after living all his life at his parents home and in their care with mesirus nefesh, my in-laws Rabbai and rebbetsten Ephraim Sabbah.
The ride and event being on the 20th of Av exactly on the day of the shloshim, I though it would be very meaningful to ride in his memory and raise money in his memory for this wonderful organization. Although he lived in Jerusalem and has never directly benefitted from Chai lifeline programs, many hundreds of challenged children and families benefit every year from their wonderful work.


Bike4Chai, an exhilarating 100-mile cycling event that I've been training for for months, benefiting the children and families of Chai Lifeline. Every mile I ride and every dollar I raise will help support more than two-dozen essential programs for more than 5,900 children and families confronting pediatric illness, crisis, and loss. These services include counseling and case management, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, transportation to medical appointments, emergency financial assistance, insurance advocacy, i-Shine afterschool programming, Big Brothers/Sisters, Project Chai crisis intervention, and Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special, Chai Lifeline’s flagship medically-supervised summer programs.

Life for a child with cancer, disability, or other serious illness is grueling. From the moment of diagnosis, Chai Lifeline’s dedicated staff and volunteers are there to provide joy, hope, and unparalleled care throughout the turbulent medical journey.
