On July 29th I will be riding in the Bike4Chai 130 km cycling event in honor of my mother Marie-Elaine Afilalo Z’L (https://montrealgazette.remembering.ca/obituary/marie-elaine-afilalo-1082450060). A heartfelt thank you to the Golbert family / Pajar for co-sponsoring this event in her loving memory.

Chai Lifeline is an extraordinary organization that supports children and families affected by cancer. My wife Alexia and I have supported and volunteered for Chai Lifeline over the past 5 years, and are excited to take part in this special event to raise funds for Camp Simcha – their flagship medically-supervised summer camp, which is truly a magical place for children in need of fun and distraction who would not otherwise be able to attend a regular summer camp.

Although my personal best ride is only 45 km, I will do my best over the next 7 weeks to train and prepare for the 130 km challenge. Evidently, this challenge is nothing in comparison to what these children overcome each and every single day in battling their illnesses – they are tremendously brave and strong, giants in little bodies.
