As a medical professional working in some of the busiest hospitals in the nation, I encounter illness and hardship on a daily basis. I strive to provide exceptional care to my patients in order to better their lives and give back to the community. But, beyond my clinical responsibilities in the hospital, I have the urge to do more. It is my calling to help out and touch as many lives as I can, both in and out of the hospital. Therefore, this year I will be joining Bike4Chai for my second season, and will take on the challenge of an exhilarating 100 mile cycling event to benefit the children, and families of children with cancer and debilitating illnesses of Chai Lifeline. Life for a child with cancer, disability, or other serious illness is grueling. From the moment of diagnosis, Chai Lifeline’s dedicated staff and volunteers are there to provide joy, hope, and unparalleled care throughout the turbulent medical journey.

I am dedicating my ride in memory of my grandfather, Mosie Shamah A”H and his beloved sister, my great aunt Shirley Mamiye A”H. Both were a true light in our community, and lived a life of tremendous hesed and giving. True role models that possessed some of the greatest qualities that I could only dream of ever emulating.
